Dear Winter

This is a poem I wrote during my writing class at Kent State this summer. One of our teachers was presenting a lesson about how to inspire poetry that uses imagery. We viewed a PowerPoint of images of winter while enjoying Peppermint Patties, and we selected words from a list of adjectives that are synonymous with cold. I tried to express my loathing of winter by choosing specific images and unique combinations of descriptive words. Enjoy! :) ~ Ms. Duffy
