My inspiration for this piece was the play Romeo and Juliet by Willam Shakespare. We read this play two months ago in class. This piece was inspired by the play becasue I basically wrote a summary of the whole play in Romeo's point of view. I made sure that what I put into the diary entries was truthful and that the facts evened up. My journal entries reflected how Romeo probably felt during the play while all those things were happening. The whole play didn't follow Romeo around. So, you didn't always know what he was thinking. So, I decided to make what I thought Romeo would be thinking during parts of the play.

I thought that this piece was a very creative way to showcase your understanding of Romeo and Juliet. I like the way Romeo signs off each entry. If you had to pick a character to make a journal for, Romeo certainly was the best choice. He was just so emotional. You've captured the speed in which those events transpired. Maybe you could make the last entry a little bit stronger (he's about to commit suicide). This was such an unique idea!
ReplyDeleteClaire, this was a really good piece. I liked your word choice and I think you did a good job of capturing Romeos emotions. I thought it really sounded like something he would write.
ReplyDeleteClaire, this was a great idea for a portfolio piece! It shows how you understand the play and it helps readers know the main points of what happens throughout the story. I like how you had a major thing happen in each entry- it shows that Romeo is a very sudden person and makes choices without thinking. I also like the emotion that Romeo had. I would make the entry with Friar Lawrence and the entry where he's about to kill himself a little longer. Good job!
ReplyDeleteClaire, that was really good. It did sum up what you would think Romeo would be feeling throughout the play. I like how at the end of each journal entry you wrote what Romeo was "thinking."
ReplyDeleteClaire, I loved how you showed the events in the story. You kind of summed it all up in a couple of pages. Over all, well done!
