This is a piece inspired by the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. It was written in the 1800's and is about slavery in the United States. I really enjoyed this book and it is now one of my favorites. I wrote about the bond between a mother and son, both of whom are slaves, when all they had was each other. It really touched me, and i hope you enjoy it as well!

Lauren, this piece was amazing! It is very thoughtful and you made great connections. I thought this was a fantastic piece and I could really see your inspiration! I really don't think this piece needs any revising, but if you wanted to maybe you could change some of the vocabulary you used, but I don't really think it needs that. Really great job! (:
ReplyDeleteLauren, great job! Your piece was beautiful- I could feel the emotion you had and emotion you put in it. I don't recommend changing anything except maybe making sure all the beginnings of your stanza rhyme- unless it was meant to be the way it's set up. Other than that, nice job!
