I wrote a poem based on the reading of my non-fiction book, Beautiful Boy. This book talks about the struggle a family, especially the father, goes through after realizing that their son has a drug addiction problem. My poem talks about the effects struggles, and problems that a drug addict goes through. Hope you like it.

Tracy, I think your poem is really good. I like how you started with the one word line. I like how you wrote it in first person. The only thing I noticed was that you said in line 5, "It lost it all," I think you meant I, but if not, the first it doesn't really make sense. I like how you told it almost as a story, but like of the emotions of the character. The poem is simple and clear, but it has depth, and I think that it what makes it really good. Good job:)
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great poem! i also read beautiful boy and i see how this poem really relates to the book. I like the point of view, like it is coming from nic. I could feel the emotion he felt as well. I like how it has depth behind the words, and it flows pretty well. good job! (:
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this poem! I was curious as to what your poem was about, and it caught my attention! I agree with Annelise in saying that one line doesn't make sense. It has great content and idea, and a strong voice, since it is in first person and is very emotional. Good work!
ReplyDeleteI thought your piece was really good! I liked the topic you were adressing because its not something a lot of teens write about. I thought the poem flowed together really well, but one improvment that could be made is to use stronger words in some places. Overall i thought your poem was really good. Great job!
ReplyDeleteTracy, that was very well written. I feel you had very nice rhyming at the end of each line. There may be a few speling errors, but there also may not. You might've wrote it the way you did for a reason. For example, at the beginning of one line it says it whe you may want to write I. Overall I like your poem a lot.
