My online Writer’s Portfolio Piece was a choice piece. It was inspired by my little brother’s obsession of old computers − particularly the Commodore VIC−20, a BASIC computer used for programming step by step. In my piece, the “program” is already running. My piece is the transcript of how I think the supercomputer would respond to a scenario where war is forever, aka infinite. In order for it to do so, the supercomputer scans its database, which would be really a dictionary, and puts together whether or not it would be possible and why, (of course, a real supercomputer would have much more than six “intersecting definitions”, but that would go on for more than two pages). Finally, I would just like to add that this supercomputer must not be connected to historical events or be at all conscience, because common sense tells us that nothing can last forever, especially war.

This piece was very interesting but was a little bit confusing. I liked how the computer was responding to infinate war but i did not understand what there was to read and how it all fit together. Otherwise this was an intedresting piece.
ReplyDeletethis is an interesting story but it is also very confusing. i dont know what a lot of technical talk means so i had trouble reading it. maybe next time you could write about and easier topic.
ReplyDeletePhoenix, your writting piece was very intresting and something I never would have thought about writting about. I enjoyed reading a topic ive never really read about before. It was complex and a little hard to understand. So maybe you could go in and clear up on things since some people arent familiar with this topic!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cool piece, except I had to read it about three times to fully understand what everything meant. I think you should take away some of the technological commands and it might make it easier to understand. I also think you should shorten the end, since they're just computer commands. This is a really unique piece that was fun to read. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThis was a unique topic, and piece. it was well written. exept it was just a bit confusing and hard to understand. But other than that i thought it was a well written piece.
ReplyDeletePheonix, I really enjoyed this piece! I found the reasoning of the computer to be quite entertaining! Your style and ideas are unique. This is a well- crafted piece.
